Which characters do you like and why?

I like Billy because he looked out for Mia as he let the dog go as a distraction against his brothers. He gives back her bag when they take it off her and even offers to go to Tilbury with her. He invites her to whales at the end of the movie aswell.

What image of British females does this film portray?

The women in this film are portrayed to be very stereotypical 'chavs' as all of the female residents on the rundown London council estate are wearing tracksuits and lots of jewelery. To add to this they spend most of their day in groups on the streets drinking and taking drugs while their parents are no where to be seen. The females in the film are also made to be looked at as sexual objects by the males. This can be seen by how some of the older aged girls on the street wear less clothes when dancing while a large group of males sit and watch, themselves topless. This idea can also be seen in the scene when Mia comes down stairs and starts talking to her mums new boyfriend. Following this the new boyfriend becomes intermate with her even through he is going out with her mum and she is under age.

What could the significance of the locations be?

The locations are very important because they add to the sterotypes which this film is largely based on. For example the same atmosphere would not to created if the 'chav' population of the film would not live on a council estate as this is the place where sterotypes place them.
