Red Riding Evaluation

The scene I have selected to evaluate the time period and location is where Dunford bursts into the newspaper office to see his boss who is engaged in a conversation with another journalist. Primarily, the mise-en-scene is used to portray the noir style and to represent the time period of the 1970s. The colour scheme in the office is dull and basic and the costumes are simplistic and monotonous, the weather also contributes to the gloomy atmosphere bu using pathetic fallacy. This visual dark look reflects the mysterious undertone and corruption within the officials of society. Further factors add to the narrative and location such as dialogue. The accents used are strong yorkshire accents.
